Carpal tunnel syndrome is a condition causing pain, weakness, numbness, and tingling in the affected hand and arm. It is caused by a compression of the median nerve. Any repetitive motion with hands such as typing, sewing, driving, writing, or playing instruments can cause carpal tunnel syndrome. The symptoms of carpal tunnel syndrome can affect a lot of daily activities which require the movement of hands. Chronic and untreated condition of carpal tunnel syndrome can lead to a permanently damaged nerve.
